CodeWeavers, a developer of software products that transform Mac OS X and Linux into Windows-compatible operating systems, has released CrossOver Mac 6.2, which is compatible with Mac OS X 10.5 (“Leopard”), which is due next month.
CrossOver Mac 6.2 users running Outlook on Leopard can expect a 50 percent increase in speed, on average, over CrossOver Mac 6.1, according to CodeWeavers CEO Jeremy White. Also, the upgrade will support Valve Software’s newly released Team Fortress II game.
To help convey the gaming advantages of its 6.2 versions, CodeWeavers has prepared a web video comparing the experiences of those gamers using CrossOver versus its competitors VMware and Parallels. You can view the video at the CodeWeavers web site.
CodeWeavers is also offering a launch promotion of a ten percent discount through Oct. 31 for all customers who order the 6.2 version online and enter a special deal code of “zomg.”
