In a just-aired broadcast on CNBC (as covered by AppleInsider, the network’s Jim Goldman reported that a source close to Apple’s manufacturing facilities has confirmed that the company will launch its much rumored sub-notebook at next month’s Macworld Conference & Expo in January.
He says the “MacBook Thin” (our name, not his) will be 50 percent slimmer than current Apple laptops, use NAND flash memory rather than a hard disk drive and cost around US$1,500. Goldman said would have a 12-inch screen, but others (including AppleInsider) say it will sport a 13.3-inch display.
Goldman, on CNBC, also said that Apple will have a 3G iPhone no later than June and that the iPod touch is selling “far better than expected”
