CFMulti allows use of Eye-Fi cards in CompactFlash-based cameras

imageSynchrotech’s new US$28 CFMulti enables CompactFlash Type II (5.0mm CompactFlash Slot) based digital cameras to use Eye-Fi WiFi SD Cards to wirelessly transfer their photos to their computer just like SD based cameras can. Most current high end DSLR and late model midrange digital cameras feature CompactFlash slots.

CFMulti provides them with WiFi, while allowing switching back to high performance UDMA CompactFlash. CFMulti also allows the use of SDHC, SD Cards, MMC +Plus, and MultiMediaCards in place of CompactFlash.

CFMulti reduces an Eye-Fi card’s range, but otherwise works seamlessly with Eye-Fi Home, Share, and Explore devices. Not every CompactFlash based camera supports the CFMulti and Eye-Fi tandem, but many popular DSLR cameras have been tested including: Nikon’s D100, Canon’s Rebel XTi, and EOS 20D, 30D, and 40D cameras.
