Samsung has introduced the SC-HMX20C Progressive HD Flash-based Camcorder. It features full HD and an 1080p mode with 30 frames per second recording capability and comes with an included docking station.
The camcorder also offers HDMI input and component connectivity for viewing home movies directly on an HDTV. Users can connect the SC-HMX20C to their computer via a USB connection. The multifunctional HD camcorder also delivers still camera functionality of up to 8 megapixels size through “pixel-rising” technology.
The SC-HMX20C offers consumers the ability to record in full 1920×1080p HD quality, says Reid Sullivan, vice president of Digital Audio & Video Marketing at Samsung. And because this camcorder records onto flash memory, it offers “quick start-up, great battery life and one of the smallest bodies in the industry,” he adds.
The SC-HMX20C will be available in May. Pricing hasn’t been announced.
