This news tidbit is courtesy of Kenn Marks of the Bux-Mont MUG user group: “Those of you who might remember the days prior to Steve Job’s return where Apple was diluting it’s penetration by Licensing OS clones to Motorola, PowerComputing, UMAX, Daystar Digital, Radius, Etc.
“Well they are back, not from the aforementioned licensees, and not officially sanctioned by Apple. A company called Psystar has started advertising a $399 computer called ‘OpenMac,’ which claims to be a Leopard compatible Mac built from standard PC-parts and taking advantage of the osx86project to accomplish the task.”
Let’s hope the folks at Psystar are on the phone to their lawyers. Cause I’m sure Apple CEO Steve Jobs is calling in his legal team. Hey, maybe he has already. If you try to access the Psystar web site, it doesn’t open as the server isn’t responding.

Jason Says:
At least one company realizes that Apple is missing a huge chunk of its product lineup and is willing to do something about it. If it makes it to resale, they can count me in for about six of them. Unless Steve uses a machine personally, he thinks no one else will. These guys are going to potentially deliver what many people have been asking for for years now. A mid-range Mac without the screen, with expandability and customization without the massive price of a Mac Pro. Every other major manufacture has an offering at this level, except Apple.
