Northern Softworks has updated Cache Cleaner, a Mac OS X maintenance and utility application, to version 4.0, which is compatible with Mac OS X 10.5 (“Leopard”), which goes on sale Friday, Oct. 26. (In fact, it’s now called Leopard Cache Cleaner.)
The update also adds a new Emergency Disk creator for creating bootable emergency disks using either retail packages of Mac OS X or the installer disks that ship with Macs. It also adds the ability to optimize files, free memory and inactive memory; the ability to detect rootkits; new repair capabilities including the ability to repair Home Folder permissions and the ability to repair the Volumes folder.
Leopard Cache Cleaner costs US$8.99. It’s Universal Binary so runs natively on both PowerPC and Intel Macs. Despite the “Leopard” in the title, it works with Mac OS X 10.2.8 and higher.
Submissions are being taken for the “Macsimum Macworld San Francisco 2008 Coupon Book.” For details email Dennis at daseller@earthlink.net
