Apple will open its 200th retail store this Friday. It will be located at the SanTan Village shopping center in the Phoenix, Arizona, a suburb of Gilbert, reports ifo AppleStore. The mall will hold its grand opening at 10 a.m., but the Apple store won’t open until 6 p.m. to coincide with the debut of Mac OS X 10.5 (“Leopard”).

Mac Hammer Says:

Actually, the store is being opened in Gilbert, AZ, a suburb of Phoenix, AZ. While Gilbert is one of the fastest-growing communities in the country, it has no suburbs of its own at this point…

However, we are quite pleased that we now have 2 Apple stores less than 10 miles from one another. Who knew that Chandler/Gilbert was such a bastion of Apple loyalty!
