Apple to announce third quarter financials today

Apple will announce its third quarter financials today at 2 p.m. (Pacific). As always, Macsimum News will bring all the info from the conference call for the press and analysts. Also, Apple will provide live audio streaming of the conference call utilizing QuickTime multimedia software.
The live audio webcast will be accessible through Apple’s web site. You need a copy of QuickTime 6 or QuickTime 7 to listen to the conference call.
For its fiscal 2007 second quarter that ended March 31, 2007, Apple posted revenue of US$5.26 billion and a net quarterly profit of $770 million, or $.87 per diluted share. Apple shipped 1,517,000 Macs and 10,549,000 iPods during the quarter, representing 36 percent growth in Macs and 24 percent growth in iPods over the year-ago quarter. In April, looking ahead to the third fiscal quarter of 2007 (the one that will be reported today), Peter Oppenheimer, Apple’s chief financial officer, projected revenue of about $5.1 billion and earnings per diluted share of about $.66.
