Another day, another lawsuit. Elan Microelectronics, a Taiwanese company, is suing Apple, alleging infringement of two of its touch screen patents, reports The New York Times. The suit was filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court in San Francisco, Dennis Liu, an Elan spokesman, told The Times.
The lawsuit alleges that Apple products—including its MacBook, iPhone and iPod touch—use technology that infringes on two of Elan’s patents. The Times said it was not immediately clear what damages or remedial action Elan was seeking in the suit.
Jill Tan, an Apple spokeswoman based in Hong Kong, said in an e-mail message that the company would not comment on the Elan suit.
