With early adopters upset over the drastic price cut on the iPhone this week, Apple has decided to offer every iPhone customer who purchased an iPhone from either Apple or AT&T, and who is not receiving a rebate or any other consideration, a US$100 store credit towards the purchase of any product at an Apple Retail Store or the Apple Online Store.
“Details are still being worked out and will be posted on Apple’s website next week,” says an online note from Apple. “Stay tuned.”
On Sept. 5, Apple announced it was cutting the price of the 8GB iPhone from $599 to $399. As a result, the 4GB iPhone (which was $399) is being discontinued.

Ronnie Colvin Says:
On one level I can applaud Apple for doing this. Frankly its a PR move but that’s life. On another level, I have to agree with Mr. Jobs first stance - get over it. He is right, this is technology and it’s always better, faster, cheaper the day after you buy it. You have to #### that up and live with it. If you thought it was a good deal at the time you bought it, you shouldn’t be complaining about it now that other folks are getting it cheaper. You had your chance to lord it over the others at the water cooler, so move on with your life.
I only wish there were a way to get Dell to refund some of the cash I spent on 24” LCD monitors when they were $1100, then a week later a friend bought one for $800 because they came out with a special coupon code. Did I have a right to get any of my money back? Not at all - I was a victim of technology circumstance.
