Apple has been granted patents for an input mechanism, package and case by the US Patent & Trademark Office. They’re for the Apple Earphone with Remote and Mic, plastic iPod casing and an iPhone/iPod touch case, respectively.
Apple has also filed for a trademark for “Grand Central.” Grand Central will be a feature of the upcoming Mac OS X 10.5 (“Snow Leopard”). According to Apple, Snow Leopard “delivers unrivaled support for multi-core processors with a new technology code-named “Grand Central,” making it easy for developers to create programs that take full advantage of the power of multi-core Macs.”
