During the recent Macworld Conference & Expo 2009 Expo this past January, the documentary Welcome to Macintosh was screened to an audience that consisted of several notable Apple personalities and a surprise guest: Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple Computer.
In celebration of 25 years of the Mac, the makers of Welcome to Macintosh are planning an international Mac and Apple User Group tour, offering free memorabilia and DVDs as well as discounts on the DVD, exclusively for user groups and Apple centric organizations. Group officers can register their organization on the Welcome to Macintosh homepage.
The documentary is about the early years of Apple. Engineers and developers talk about designing the early machines and making headway in a new industry. Apple personalities Andy Hertzfeld, co-creator of the original Macintosh, Guy Kawasaki, long time Mac evangelist and Leander Kahney, author of the book Cult of Mac offer insight into the company’s past, present and future.
