Apple’s Let’s Rock event, which will be held at 10 am (Pacific) in San Francisco, may have a narrower focus than some folks think (or hope), American Technology Analyst Shaw Wu said in a note to clients. He thinks that it will be totally iPod-related and not involve updated Mac laptops, as some have predicted.
What’s more, he thinks changes to the iPod lineup may also be relatively minor with a slightly tweaked iPod nano and iPod touch with more memory at a reduced price.
Wu thinks that the much-anticipated MacBooks and MacBook Pros are coming, but not on Sept. 9. On the other hand, he says there are some potential long-shots that Apple could announce at the event. Such as? An revved Apple TV with DVR and TV tuner capabilities and new touch form factors with larger screens (think iPod/MacBook Air hybrid).
