Ambrosia Software has announced WireTap Pro, an “all purpose” digital recording solution for recording audio on your Mac. You can use it to record audio from any running applications, as well as from any microphone, line-in, headset and the radioSHARK from Griffin Technology.
WireTap Pro can save your digital recordings in MP3, AAC, QuickTime, and AIFF file formats (you can choose). It can also save your recordings directly into iTunes or onto your iPod. To facilitate recording streaming audio from the Internet, WireTap Pro integrates tightly with Apple’s iCal, allowing you to schedule recording sessions that will automatically start up a streaming audio feed, and record it unattended.
Recording sessions can be saved as “Packaged Sessions” that you can download, or send to a friend. Just a double-click will instantly make that recording session available to anyone who has WireTap Pro.
A demo version is available for download. Audio Hijack and Audio Hijack Pro users can upgrade to WireTap Pro for US$9. For new users the cost is $19. It’s compatible with Mac OS X (10.2 and later)
