4D Inc. has released 4D Web 2.0 Pack 11, a toolset that lets developers create business intelligence applications for mobile platforms such as the iPhone and iPod touch, as well as traditional browsers. This version includes feature additions and support for 4D 11 SQL, as well as performance improvements and bug fixes.
4D Web 2.0 Pack 11 features a new Business Intelligence component that allows you to create Ajax powered, dashboard-style reports. You can build a new dashboard using drag and drop to add fields and groups, insert charts, and perform basic calculations, all without having to write
any JavaScript. Applications can be built with a few clicks using pre-set themes, or customized in the CSS.
The Dashboard Editor can be used to build business intelligence dashboards that can be added to existing web sites and are cross-browser compatible, as well as iPhone applications that take
advantage of the iPhone’s features. For example, iPhone Dashboard applications can link data directly with the phone, e-mail, or Google Maps.
4D Web 2.0 Pack 11 retails for US$599 and includes six months of free upgrades. An additional 12-month maintenance plan is $249.
